What is the Community Transport scheme?
The scheme provides the use of minibuses for the benefit of community groups and people living in the South Somerset area.

What are the Main aims of the project?
To provide transport to people in South Somerset who are over 60 and or disabled who are unable to access mainstream services.

What types of transport are available?
A range of different minibuses and vehicles is available including sixteen seaters and minibuses all fitted with wheelchair accessible tail lifts or ramps.
How much will it cost
We price our journeys on miles travelled and drivers time.  For each mile travelled we charge 63p per mile, plus £10.25 per hour or part of.  So if your journey is 10 miles and takes ½ hour, you will be charged £6.30 + £5.12 = £11.42

Key facts about the project
Community Transport makes the equivalent of over 59,000 passenger journeys each year and covers over 250,000 miles. We are proud to have served over 300 local organisations and groups last year.
